POD (Professional Opportunity Development) program aims to empower dignified living through career development. The program is fully in alignment with the Four Cornerstones

HOW IT WORKS

For many people adverse life circumstances and/or socio-economic challenges impede finding that career that leads to a sustainable future and becoming productive and proud members of the community. AyZar Outreach’s POD Program strives to reverse that trend one person at a time. The program leverages a network of Partners with the skills, talent and experience to support Participants, with the promise that those that receive will give back to the cause once they reach their initial career goals.

Once admitted, participants will go through a series of evaluations leading to a personalized program investing in an optimum combination of the four pillars of successful career development:

Internship & Externship Programs

Mentorship

Networking

Each personalized program acts as a contract between AyZar Outreach and the participant and contains deliverables and timeline as well as payback commitment on ways and means the member plans on contributing back to the cause. While payback approach and methodology are customized, much the same way the program itself is for each participant, common ways a participant can pay back are through assisting in the operation of the organization either during the program and/or beyond, providing job training when an expert, or becoming a mentor to other participants when established in a career.

APPLICATION

Participants qualify for the POD program if:

  • Have a positive mindset with a zest for learning and self-development, with strong determination to make it against all odds and eager to put in the hard work needed
  • Are economically challenged with a Household Income under $45,000 per year (Based on a 2-person HH)
  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Take required assessments tests
  • Posses basic English language skills and committed to learn it to fluency through all available options (i.e. enroll in courses, seek out ways to practice conversational English, engage in reading and reporting on books, etc.)
  • Available to enroll in various academic and training program needed in the desired field
  • Are available to participate in the program for 3-6 months at 16-32 hours per week (For intern participants only)
  • Have a willingness to give back to the POD program and AyZar Outreach community once they’ve reached their initial career goals
