Position Overview

The internship is a core component of PA or pre-med education, enabling students to:

Gain supervised clinical experience in diverse medical specialties.

Develop diagnostic, treatment, and patient care skills.

Learn to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Prepare for licensure and certification as a PA

Responsibilities

During the internship, students may:
– Perform physical exams and review patient histories.
– Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, bloodwork).
– Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries under physician supervision.
– Prescribe medications and assist in surgical procedures.
– Provide patient education on treatment, self-care, and preventive health.
– Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on care plans
