A Message From the Founder
Growth and vision are powerful forces, intertwined inevitably with neither one able to take hold without the other. As children, we envision ourselves to grow into masters of the universe, in one role or another. The whole world is before us to shape and our life to do with what we aspire to. There are no impossibilities, no fears of failure.
Looking back at my vision and how I grew, I didn’t make it to be an astronaut after all, nor did I create the earth-shattering impact on humanity I thought I would. Yet the power of vision carried me to where I am today, landing somewhere between dream and reality. As I reflect on that balance, I wonder, which part of the equation got me to advance this far, and which kept me from getting closer to my dreams. From the deep-seated desire of a young girl yearning to make an impact, leading to the dedication of a real estate inheritance to power a vision, then transforming the investment into what fuels the mission today, the vision has grown into something real. Yet still far from the greater reality it can become. Did I not dream big enough? Or did I not take my dreams seriously enough? Did I not work hard enough? Or smart enough? Did I not sacrifice enough? And where do I go from here? I know the answers to every one of these questions. Or so I think!
Feeling the pressure of time, more than any other point in my life (both figurately and literally), I will leverage these learning to guide me moving forward for I still have a dream; to cultivate and grow an ecosystem of equity. And though I may not have the “forever”, I am blessed with something more powerful, more valuable – one that withstands the test of time: The backing and assistance of like-minded individuals with whom we will cultivate the ecosystem of equity that will continue to grow long after we are gone. For I know now that the true measure of vision is not only in personal achievement, but in what we create together that outlives us.
