Huda Yaqubi is a 33-year-old internationally trained dentist with a doctorate in dental surgery, a master’s in public health, and a bachelor’s in political science and public administration. She has clinical, teaching, and research experience across dentistry and public health, plus several years of policy and program evaluation work on poverty reduction and service delivery initiatives. She came to AYO while actively seeking opportunities, with a clear immediate goal: earning her license to practice dentistry in the United States. She has already passed the national dental board exam on her first attempt and is working toward full licensure and a return to clinical practice.

- Clinical dental care: Trained and practiced as a dentist with a specialty focus in orthodontics, including direct patient treatment in teaching clinic and private practice settings, plus rotations across general medicine, maternity, infectious disease, and pulmonary care.
- Teaching and curriculum development: Instructed senior-level dental students in practical clinical skills, built department curriculum, and prepared teaching materials from current professional sources.
- Research design and data analysis: Led an original graduate thesis study end to end, including drafting and submitting the IRB application, building consent forms and pre/post-test instruments, running a six-week health education curriculum across four school sites, and analyzing results using SAS. Also supported three additional research studies as a research assistant.
- Public health program delivery: Designed and implemented community-facing oral health education for elementary school children, with measured outcomes on knowledge, attitudes, and practices.
- Policy analysis and program evaluation: Served as a senior technical expert supporting a national high council on poverty reduction and service delivery, developing comprehensive evaluation plans and follow-up matrices and providing technical review of programs at the national level.
