- Key Learning Objectives & Deliverables
Site Entitlement Dossier: Produce 1–2 comprehensive constructability and environmental screening reports for targeted California critical power sites.
Environmental & Safety Matrix: Build a reference guide tracking local zoning codes, fire setback minimums, and permit pathways across high-demand data center corridors.
Applied U.S. Infrastructure Literacy: Gain practical working knowledge of U.S. land-use entitlements, utility interconnection standards, and corporate project execution.
- Responsibilities
- Site Feasibility & Civil Layout Analysis:
– Review site plans and spatial constraints for proposed hydrogen storage and stationary fuel cell installations at data centers and commercial properties.
– Evaluate physical footprint scale, equipment safety setbacks, access corridors, and stormwater/grading requirements.
Environmental Permitting & Regulatory Diligence:
– Research and analyze municipal environmental review frameworks (e.g., CEQA in California), local zoning bylaws, and emissions standards relevant to on-site hydrogen and critical power generation.
– Assist in preparing technical and environmental documentation required for local planning commission submissions, fire marshal safety reviews, and air district filings.
Proactive Community & Stakeholder Alignment:
– Assist in identifying early community concerns regarding land use, visual impacts, and safety protocols prior to formal public hearings.
– Synthesize technical environmental assessments into clear, objective presentation assets to build neighborhood alignment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Interface with executive leadership (Salim Rahemtulla, CEO; Bill O'Banion, SVP Corp. Dev./Eng/Supply Chain) on site feasibility deliverables.
Coordinate with engineering (Safin Moloo, General Intern) and business/finance (Kim Sales, Techno-Economic Analysis Intern; Raghu Kilambi, CFO) to ensure civil/environmental parameters align with technical specifications and project pro formas.
