Position Overview

Caterina’s Club’s hospitality academy program in Anaheim is designed to help students break the cycle of poverty through hands-on job training and mentorship. Created by Chef Bruno Serato, this program gives teens across Orange County access to opportunities they may not otherwise have—equipping them with practical skills for long-term success.

As part of our hospitality academy program in Orange County, we partner with local schools, including the Anaheim Union High School District’s P21 Mentorship Program, to offer a structured nine-week experience. Students are introduced to the wide range of careers within the hospitality industry and gain valuable insight from professionals working in hotels, restaurants, healthcare, and business environments.

Responsibilities

Throughout the program, students receive hands-on training in key areas such as:

Culinary skills and nutrition
Restaurant service and operations
Customer experience and communication
Marketing and business fundamentals
Financial literacy and workplace readiness

Beyond technical skills, the program focuses on personal growth—helping students build confidence, responsibility, and a clear vision for their future. It also serves as a safe, supportive after-school environment that keeps teens engaged, motivated, and connected to positive influences in their community.

Required & Preferred Skills

No skills required, students must have a work permit and between 14-18 years old. Students are guided and evaluated by experienced mentors and industry professionals, ensuring they leave the program with measurable skills and real-world experience. Upon completion, graduates receive letters of recommendation and ongoing support, with many going on to secure employment within the hospitality industry.

At its core, the Hospitality Academy Program is about opening doors—giving young people in Anaheim and across Orange County the tools, guidance, and opportunities they need to succeed in life and in their careers. Students will be stipend $1,200 after completion of the program.
