Partner Mentorship MOU
Understanding the mentorship role
By completing mentor sign-up in the AYO Partner Portal, you acknowledge
understanding the norms and expectations of this mentoring relationship as set out in this MOU.
The Portal records the sign-up date, your name, and the MOU version in effect at the time.
AYO is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to expand equitable access to
sustainable careers through Partners, Sponsors, and Champions who support Pathseekers.
What mentorship is
Mentorship under this MOU means voluntary professional guidance, career conversations,
skill-sharing, informational interviews, and real-world context offered freely as a charitable
contribution to AYO's mission.
No fee, wage, or compensation flows from AYO to the Mentor or from the Mentor to any Pathseeker.
Mentors are alongside their Pathseeker or cohort across the full POD journey, with depth of
involvement varying by need and availability.
How mentorship works
- Cohort touchpoints coordinated by AYO
- One-on-one conversations at the Mentor's discretion
- Mentors may decline requests without explanation
- Cohort details are documented separately
What AYO provides
- Matches Mentors with Pathseekers
- Coordinates cohort schedules
- Assigns a Case Manager
- Facilitates the first Mentor–Pathseeker connection
What the Mentor provides
- Professional experience and guidance
- Constructive feedback
- Participation in cohort activities as available
- Safe and respectful interactions
- Prompt communication regarding concerns
Conduct and confidentiality
Mentors engage professionally and maintain confidentiality of Pathseeker information.
Both confidentiality obligations survive the end of this MOU.
Liability
No employment relationship is created. No wages, overtime, or workers'
compensation obligations arise under this MOU.
Promotional use
By participating, you consent to AYO using your name, title, photograph,
video, voice, and likeness in promotional and program materials.
You may opt out without affecting participation.
